A story which features the role of a totem in Indigenous life. Umbarra, the Black Duck is the totem of the Yuin-Monaro people and is therefore protected by them. Warren Foster tells the story of Umbarra, by the home of the Yuin-Monaro people; Wallaga Lake, on the far south coast of New South Wales.
